A new approach to rapidly identifying pathogens and tackling antimicrobial resistance has attracted significant early investment. Vivid Dx, a precision diagnostics company spun out of the University of Oxford, announced it has closed a $15.0M seed funding round.
The company is developing a next-generation platform that promises broad pathogen identification in just 30 minutes and phenotypic antibiotic susceptibility testing in 3 hours, directly from blood samples. Backed by Oxford Science Enterprises and other leading investors, Vivid Dx aims to redefine the speed and accuracy of infectious disease diagnostics through its novel combination of pathogen cell isolation, Raman spectroscopy, and AI/ML.
