A fresh injection of capital is heading to Healthforce.io, the South African healthtech company that brings doctor consultations to local pharmacies. The startup has closed a $4.9M Seed round, with backing from investors including LUMO Labs, Target Global, Calm/Storm Ventures, Step Venture, and Next Tier Ventures.
Healthforce.io's platform enables nurse-run clinics within pharmacies, connecting patients with remote doctors via video telemedicine. Operating in close to 500 clinic rooms across South Africa, the system has already facilitated over 2 million nurse consults and close to 150,000 telemedicine doctor consultations, with services covered by several medical schemes.
