ALLOX, a Barcelona-based spin-off of the Centre for Genomic Regulation, has raised $10.5M in seed funding. Asabys Partners and ICF - Institut Català de Finances backed the round.
The company is built on technology and expertise from the lab of Ben Lehner, combining systematic mutagenesis, high-throughput phenotyping and biophysical modelling. Its immediate goal is to identify allosteric switches across all proteins, then use that resource to develop novel medicines for human diseases. Longer term, ALLOX aims to build tools to predict, design and engineer new protein functions. It is currently incubating at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).
