Teragen Energy has raised $6.0M in pre-seed funding, a round backed by BEVC, Energy Capital Ventures, AP Ventures, AIC Ventures, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, and UntroD Capital Asia.
The company, spun out of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy’s ARPA-E program, designs and manufactures modular solid oxide fuel cell systems aimed at meeting surging power demand from data centers and other AI-driven loads. Its fuel-agnostic technology is built to handle rapid load fluctuations, offering a cleaner bridge from fossil fuels to renewable energy. The founding team’s background spans electrochemistry, manufacturing scale-up, and electricity markets, giving the startup a technical foundation that’s rare at this stage.
