Sekai, a San Francisco-based startup aiming to redefine software as a new media, has secured $26.0M in Series A funding. The company, which describes itself as the first AI-native social platform pioneering "Personalized Software," is building an ecosystem for generative interactivity where users can create, play, and remix UGC apps as easily as posting a short-form video.
The round saw participation from notable investors including Khosla Ventures, Connect Ventures, Mayfield, and a16z speedrun, alongside a roster of individual backers such as Jonathan Lai, Andrew Chen, and Kevin Hartz. Sekai's platform positions software not as a tool, but as a shareable cultural artifact.
