The race for fusion energy just got a significant boost, with Proxima Fusion announcing a $469.9M Series A funding round. The substantial capital infusion positions Europe's leading fusion company to accelerate its ambitious goal of building the first generation of stellarator fusion power plants.
The round saw participation from a broad syndicate of investors, including XTX Ventures, East X Ventures, RWE, Google, Burda Principal Investments, Plural, UVC Partners, Balderton, Cherry Ventures, DST Global Partners, Brevan Howard Macro Venture, Lightspeed, redalpine, Leitmotif, Elaia, CDP Venture Capital SGR, HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds, Bayern Kapital, KfW Capital, SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen, and EIC Fund.
