The quest to restore synaptic function and motor control for patients with neurodegenerative disorders just got a significant boost. Oryon Cell Therapies, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, has closed a $21.0M Series A funding round.
The capital, backed by investors Neuro.VC and Byers Capital, will advance Oryon’s work on autologous cell therapies, initially targeting Parkinson’s disease. Co-founded in 2020 by Ole Isacson, M.D. Ph.D., and Nikola Kojic, M.D., Ph.D., the company’s technology is designed to replace lost neurons with the goal of achieving functional restoration.
