Newlight Technologies has raised $9.0M in seed funding, with backing from lomarlabs, BIRD Energy, Undeterred Capital, Ciri Ventures, and Fusion VC.
The biotechnology company, founded in 2003, has spent over two decades developing a process that converts greenhouse gas into a polymer it calls Aircarbon®. That material is now used across industries from foodware to fashion, and the company has picked up accolades along the way, including "Innovation of the Year" from Popular Science and "Technology Pioneer" from the World Economic Forum. The fresh capital arrives as Newlight pushes its commercialization efforts further.
