London-based deeptech startup Ki 13 has pulled in $5.0M in seed funding, a round that brings together HICO Investment Group, Burgest, Triple Impact Ventures, GiTV, Desai Ventures, and Innovate UK.
The company, formerly known as Ki Hydrogen, is chasing a specific niche in the energy transition: producing green hydrogen and biogenic CO₂ at rock-bottom cost, then feeding those inputs into synthetic e-fuels like Sustainable Aviation Fuel, e-Methanol, and e-Methane. With aviation and shipping under pressure to decarbonize, the economics of feedstock production are often the bottleneck-Ki 13 is betting its technology can crack that.
