Primebook India has secured $250 in new funding from investors, marking a significant milestone for the deep-tech company. A product of Floydwiz Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Primebook is recognized for developing India’s first Android-based laptop. Its mission, established in 2018 by IIT Delhi alumni Aman Verma and Chitranshu Mahant, centers on making computing truly accessible to the nation's youth, encompassing students, self-learners, creators, coders, and early professionals. This investment underscores the growing interest in solutions addressing the digital divide.
At the heart of Primebook's offering is PrimeOS, a custom, in-house operating system built on Android, specifically designed for laptops. This innovative OS delivers a user experience that blends the simplicity and flexibility of Android with robust PC-like functionalities. Key features include full-screen Android app support, multi-window multitasking, dedicated browser and file manager, access to over 50,000 apps via the Prime App Store, and advanced tools like an AI assistant powered by Gemini and an offline coding tool called PrimeCoding.
The newly secured capital will be strategically deployed to accelerate Primebook’s growth initiatives and enhance its market presence. The company plans to use these funds to further develop its PrimeOS ecosystem, expand its product line, and scale its reach across various demographics in India. This investment is crucial for Primebook as it aims to strengthen its position as a leading provider of affordable and functional computing solutions in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
This funding round reinforces investor confidence in Primebook's technological innovation and its commitment to digital empowerment. As Primebook continues its mission to level the digital playing field, this capital infusion positions the company to drive greater accessibility to essential computing tools. Looking forward, Primebook India is poised to expand its impact, fostering learning and productivity among millions of young Indians and contributing significantly to the country's digital transformation journey.
