Locus Biosciences has raised $23.9M, with BARDA supplying the capital.
The clinical-stage biotech develops engineered bacteriophage products for bacterial infections and immunology, using a platform that pairs predictive AI with automated robotics to build precision phage therapies that kill target pathogens while leaving the rest of a patient's microbiome intact. Locus recently completed the open-label portion of a Phase 2 trial of LBP-EC01 in uncomplicated UTIs caused by drug-resistant E. coli, and it also holds contracts with BARDA and CARB-X.
