Limetax has raised $41.8M in seed funding, a hefty early-stage bet on its vision to rebuild tax and accounting for small and mid-sized businesses around agentic AI. The round is backed by Motive Partners, ACTIVANT CAPITAL, and Heliad, alongside individual investors including Christian Lindner, Alexander Kudlich, Anton Rummel, and Ante Spittler.
The German company isn't building software for accountants to bolt onto their workflows. Instead, Limetax operates as an agentic-first tax and accounting group, pairing its proprietary technology platform with partnerships with forward-thinking accounting and tax firms across Germany. The strategy is less about selling tools and more about scaling a new kind of service model-one where AI agents handle the grunt work while human firms focus on advisory. The size of the seed round suggests investors see a crowded market ripe for consolidation, with Limetax positioning itself as the tech-forward consolidator.
