A biotech company aiming to reverse diabetic eye damage at the genomic level, Invirsa, Inc. has closed a $7.7M Series B funding round. The firm is advancing INV-102, a first-in-class small molecule designed to counteract the "molecular clog" that disables critical repair genes in diabetic patients, leading to conditions like non-healing corneal ulcers and vision loss.
This approach, which restores the cell's natural "Repair Chamber," has demonstrated statistically significant improvement in visual acuity in diabetic subjects during a Phase 2 study, addressing a root cause currently without approved therapy.
