The quest to improve hematopoietic stem cell transplantation just got a $2.5M boost for Japan's Celaid Therapeutics, which announced its Series b funding round.
The Japan-based biotechnology company has developed a platform technology that efficiently expands hematopoietic stem cells ex vivo, regardless of their origin. With this novel approach, Celaid is developing a cell therapy product to advance HSC transplantation and aid patients suffering from blood disorders. The Series b round saw investment from Shionogi & Co., Ltd. and Teikoku Ventures, Inc.
