BionicM, a University of Tokyo spin-off building powered prosthetic limbs, has raised $4.5M in Series B funding.
The company's flagship product, the Bio Leg®, is a robotic prosthetic knee designed to replicate lost muscle strength and allow more natural movement for lower-limb amputees. It has FDA approval and U.S. medical insurance coverage, and BionicM has set up a U.S. subsidiary headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area to push into the world's largest prosthetics market. The Bio Leg® was also named a CES Innovation Awards® 2025 Best of Innovation honoree.
