Atierra has raised $6K in pre-seed funding, a modest but deliberate first step for a company tackling one of the hardest problems in climate tech: pulling 10 billion tons of CO₂ out of the atmosphere annually by 2050.
The startup is betting on microalgae as a dual-purpose tool-not just to capture carbon, but to convert it into oils that can feed biofuel production. That co-benefit angle is what sets Atierra apart in a crowded field of carbon-removal hopefuls, turning waste CO₂ into something regenerative rather than just sequestered. The round is small, but for a pre-seed stage, it’s enough to start proving the concept.
