AfriMedlink has raised $5K in seed funding to build out its WhatsApp-based platform connecting patients with nearby pharmacies that actually have their medicine in stock. The company says the tool requires no downloads, aiming to remove friction for patients who currently trek between pharmacies before finding what they need.
The platform also gives pharmacies real-time demand data, expiry management, and a new customer acquisition channel - a gap AfriMedlink frames as invisibility rather than scarcity in African healthcare access. The company is currently launching in Rwanda and building toward a subscription-based model across Sub-Saharan Africa.
