Payment terminals are getting a software upgrade, and investors are betting it will keep merchants from jumping ship. Zeal has raised $10.0M in a Series B round, the London-based company confirmed.
Zeal doesn't process payments itself. Instead, it plugs into existing terminal fleets via a single SDK, layering on loyalty programs, analytics, and third-party services without requiring new hardware. The pitch to payment service providers and acquirers is straightforward: terminals that do more than swipe cards reduce churn and help win new merchant accounts. The round is backed by Raed Ventures, Pinnacle Capital, and Cur8 Capital, adding fuel to Zeal's push to turn point-of-sale infrastructure into a distribution channel for data-driven retail tools.
