Northern Light Microscopy has raised $1.3M in pre-seed funding. The Glasgow-based precision photonics company is building benchtop optical imaging systems aimed at making advanced and super-resolution microscopy more accessible to life sciences researchers.
Its flagship AMIS platform packs multiple advanced imaging modes into a single compact, fully enclosed unit, run through the company's LINK software. The pitch is straightforward: high-end imaging without the specialist facilities, expert operators or hefty price tag those methods usually demand, and without forcing researchers to choose between specimen throughput and spatial resolution. The systems work on standard lab benches and support workflows from individual slides to 96- and 384-well plates.
