XPENG has raised $900.0M in a Series B round, a significant infusion for the Chinese smart electric vehicle maker as it pushes deeper into a crowded and capital-intensive market. The company, known for its in-house development of advanced driver-assistance systems and intelligent operating software, is positioning itself around tech-savvy middle-class buyers.
The funding arrives as XPENG expands beyond its home base, having set up a European headquarters in Amsterdam in 2021 and opened offices across the continent. With manufacturing anchored in Zhaoqing and Guangzhou, the fresh capital gives it more runway to scale production and refine its vehicle architecture-though the company has not detailed exactly where the money will go.
