Synthefy has raised $6.5M in seed funding, a bet that the next frontier for generative AI isn't just text or images, but the messy, time-stamped data that powers everything from supply chains to sensor networks. The round was led by Wing Venture Capital, with participation from Haystack, Samsung Next, Canonical Crypto, and Lightscape, alongside a roster of angel investors from OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta.
The startup is building multi-modal generative models specifically for time series data, letting users search, forecast, and synthesize privacy-preserving datasets from a simple text prompt. It's an ambitious pitch-turning a notoriously rigid data type into something as fluid as a chat query-and the backing from both enterprise-focused VCs and crypto-native funds suggests Synthefy is aiming for a wide net of use cases, from industrial analytics to decentralized data markets.
