The race to build more efficient AI infrastructure just got a massive boost, with Positron AI announcing a Series C funding round of $875.0M. The capital infusion, backed by NEA and Jim Clark, will fuel the company's mission to provide vendor freedom and faster inference for generative and large language models.
Positron AI designs hardware and software explicitly for LLMs, promising lower power usage and drastically reduced total cost of ownership for enterprises and research teams running popular open-source models. The company is also developing its own ASIC to expand beyond inference and fine-tuning to support training and other parallel compute workloads.
