The future of real-time image analysis just got a $2.1M boost, as Singular Photonics announced its Seed round close for its pioneering work in advanced image sensors. The company is developing image sensors based on single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) that integrate advanced on-chip computation.
This technology allows information to be analyzed at the point where light is first detected, transforming SPAD sensors into computational engines capable of sophisticated tasks like real-time photon counting and timing. Their approach aims to enable smaller, faster, and more efficient systems for the growing demands of edge computing and AI-driven applications.
