SCIS Air Security has raised $50.0M in seed funding, a hefty early-stage bet on a company that has quietly built a niche securing the country’s airport catering and aircraft supply chains since 2001.
The round is backed by Sequoia Capital, Greenoaks Capital Partners, Swish Ventures, and Netz Capital, alongside individual investors including Anne Neuberger, the former White House cyber official. SCIS, which employs SIDA-badged staff across 39 airports, has expanded beyond its post-9/11 security roots into equipment lifecycle management for point-of-sale devices and in-flight entertainment systems. The company also partnered with SteriFlight during the pandemic to bring UVC sanitization to aviation, a pivot that hints at broader ambitions as air travel rebounds.
