The push to decarbonize rice cultivation in Asia just got a $20.0M boost, with Agri-Tech startup Rize announcing its Series B round. The investment, led by BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, will fuel Rize's platform development.
Formed as a joint venture by Temasek, Wavemaker Impact, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and GenZero, Rize is building a platform to identify and implement effective strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in rice cultivation. The company also aims to create economic incentives across the value chain to drive the adoption of sustainable techniques, initially targeting Indonesia and Vietnam.
