Piomic Medical has raised $25.0M in Series B funding to push its regenerative wound-care technology further into clinical testing. The Zurich-based company, spun out of ETH Zurich, is developing a portable device that uses what it calls Concurrent Optical and Magnetic Stimulation to treat non-healing wounds.
The round drew backing from Swisscanto, Diabetes Venture Fund, Zürcher Kantonalbank, Verve Ventures, Sky Stiftung, N&V Capital, and SFOA - Swiss Single Family Office Association. Piomic's flagship COMS One Therapy System has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and is CE-marked under EU rules, though it remains investigational and has not yet won regulatory approval in the U.S. or Canada. Two studies are underway: MAVERICKS, an FDA pivotal trial in diabetic foot ulcers, and NAZARÉ, a European study in chronic vascular leg ulcers.
