Indonesia's vast palm fruit market is getting a digital overhaul, thanks to PemPem, which has just raised $3.0M in Series A funding.
The startup operates a trade marketplace designed to digitize the supply chain, bringing much-needed transparency and liquidity to a complex ecosystem. PemPem provides smallholder farmers and traders with clear pricing data and guarantees, giving them flexibility in choosing which mills to supply, while ensuring mills receive responsive supply. The company plans to extend its market access model, powered by transparency, to other commodities such as cocoa, coffee, and coconut.
