MediaCore raised a $4.5M Series A round led by Vanedge Capital. The company built a mobile video platform for universities, giving instructors tools to record lessons and share them privately with students.
Founded in 2011, MediaCore aimed to let every university build its own Netflix-style library of course content. The company says its product won more than 20 awards internationally and was used by over 100 universities, including Yale, Brown, Columbia, Penn State and Stanford. MediaCore was acquired by Workday in September 2015.
