Berlin’s metr Building Management Systems GmbH has raised $12.1M in a Series B round, a fresh infusion aimed at scaling its data-driven push to cut CO2 emissions in real estate. The funding brings together a mix of regional backers, including SBG – Sächsische Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Kachel GmbH, IBB Capital GmbH, BRAWO GROUP, and its long-time incubator, Next Big Thing AG.
Founded in 2016, metr builds a digital platform that networks building systems to make them more energy-efficient and sustainable-an approach that earned it the Smart Country Startup Award in 2020. The new capital arrives as the company looks to deepen its foothold in a sector under growing regulatory pressure to decarbonize.
