HTMS Composites has raised $1.7M from Maven Capital Partners and Mercia Ventures. The company makes lightweight composite materials designed to help manufacturers of high-performance engineering systems work around thermal limits.
Its pitch is straightforward: better thermal performance without adding weight, which the company says improves durability, efficiency and sustainability. The round's backers suggest investor appetite for materials that can squeeze more out of existing engineering systems.
