Skylo Technologies has raised $23.1M from Seraphim Space Investment Trust, giving the Mountain View-based company fresh capital as it builds out satellite connectivity for everyday devices.
Skylo runs what it calls a Non-Terrestrial Network service, letting smartphones and IoT cellular devices connect directly over existing satellites rather than requiring new hardware. Its commercial NTN vRAN uses a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native base station and core, and the company partners with satellite operators, network operators, and device makers to link terrestrial and satellite networks. The focus is on connectivity for people outdoors and machines at work in industries like agriculture, maritime, logistics, and mining, alongside mass-market consumer devices.
