Andreessen Horowitz, ARM, and M12 have poured $300.0M into Gimlet Labs, an applied research lab building next-generation AI infrastructure. The size of the check signals serious conviction in the startup’s bet on the underlying systems that power AI, rather than the applications riding on top of them.
Gimlet Labs hasn’t detailed what this capital will go toward, but the backing from a trio of heavyweights-spanning venture, chip design, and corporate venture-suggests the work is aimed at the hardware-software frontier where AI models meet the physical compute they depend on.
