FRYZZA GmbH has raised $389K from investors Ralf Dümmel and Frank Thelen. The German frozen-pizza maker has built its product specifically for the air fryer, a niche it's betting can carry a premium in a crowded freezer aisle.
Its hand-stretched, hand-topped pies were developed with star chef Alexander Wulf and are designed to cook in five to six minutes at 200°C. The dough is a 24-hour fermented sourdough, and the launch lineup runs to three varieties: Veggie, Puten-Rinder-Pepperoni-Salami, and Margherita. The pitch is speed and crispness without an oven - though the pizzas can also be baked conventionally.
