India’s sewage treatment infrastructure is largely broken-75% of plants that could recycle water sit defunct-and DigitalPaani is building the software to bring them back online. The company has raised $2.3M in a Series A round to scale its IoT platform, which automates plant operations, flags faults with custom sensors and 75-plus algorithms, and dispatches maintenance workflows.
The round draws backing from Navam Capital, Enzia Ventures, Chakra Growth Capital, 3one4 Capital, Momentum Capital, Achieving Women Entrepreneurs Early Growth Fund, and Echo River Capital. DigitalPaani says its system cuts operating costs by 25–35% and saves 58 million litres of freshwater per partner plant-a pitch that’s already earned it recognition from Niti Aayog. The fresh capital arrives as India’s water crisis deepens, making functional recycling infrastructure less a nice-to-have than a necessity.
