As the UK’s largest water and sewerage company, serving around 15 million customers across London and the Thames Valley, this significant investment shows strong confidence in our commitment to excellence and sustainability. Every day, we supply clean water equivalent to more than 11,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools and manage the disposal of wastewater equaling 16,000 pools, ensuring quality and safety for almost 25 percent of the UK population.
This ambitious injection of funds will be directed towards enhancing our robust infrastructure and networks, including our advanced water treatment plants and sewerage systems, which are among the most sophisticated in Europe. Continuing our tradition of investing in the future, we will channel part of this capital into expanding our rigorous testing protocols, where we already conduct over 400,000 tests on our drinking water each year, to further guarantee the highest health and safety standards for our customers. Additionally, the funding will support extensive plans to upgrade our pipelines and treatment facilities, ensuring reliable service and sustainable resource management for the decades ahead.
