The race for more sustainable space access just got a $25.0M boost, as Dawn Aerospace announced its Series b funding round. The company, which operates out of the Netherlands, New Zealand, France, and the United States, is known for its dual focus on suborbital spaceplanes and green in-space propulsion systems.
Its Aurora spaceplane demonstrator has completed over 60 test flights, recently breaking the sound barrier at Mach 1.12 and setting a record for the fastest climb to 20 kilometers. Concurrently, Dawn's green propulsion systems, using nitrous oxide and propylene, are already in space on over 50 satellites, with more than 200 thrusters deployed.
