AI content moderation software provider Checkstep has secured $4.1M in new investment, with Alea Capital Partners leading a round that also drew support from a notable group of tech industry figures. Among the influential personalities backing the company are Shutterstock founder Jon Oringer and William Tunstall-Pedoe, who founded Evi, which became Amazon Alexa.
Founded in 2020 by serial entrepreneur Guillaume Bouchard, who previously sold Bloomsbury AI to Facebook, and Jonathan Manfield, Checkstep helps global platforms detect harmful content and enforce policies at scale. Its software combines powerful automation with human expertise to deliver safe, compliant digital experiences.
