Calocurb has raised $27.0M in a Series A round, a significant infusion for the New Zealand-based bioceutical company as it pushes its plant-based weight-management product into broader markets.
The company’s pitch is built on clinical evidence rather than hype: over 16 years and four trials, its hops-flower extract has been shown to cut hunger by 30%, cravings by 40%, and calorie intake by 18%, while also supporting fat loss and muscle retention. Unlike GLP-1 drugs, Calocurb is natural, prescription-free, and works within an hour by triggering the body’s own appetite-regulating hormones. The fresh capital will help scale production and distribution of the supplement, which was developed by scientists at New Zealand’s Bioeconomy Sciences Institute.
