BrainChild Bio has raised $116.0M in a Series A round, a sizable bet on a niche but urgent corner of oncology: using CAR-T cell therapy against tumors in the central nervous system, starting with kids.
The clinical-stage biotech is focused on diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, a devastating pediatric brain cancer with few treatment options, and plans to extend its platform to other pediatric and adult CNS tumors, including brain metastases. The company describes itself as "kids-first," and the funding will support advancing its pipeline toward and through the clinic. The investors behind the round were not disclosed.
