Blissclub has raised $16.8M to build out its line of technical activewear for women in India. The company positions itself as community-first, having gathered its audience before it ever launched a product.
Founder and CEO Minu Margeret frames the bet around a gap in the market: women's activewear in India, she says, has been largely ignored by major brands, leaving shoppers to contend with low-quality material, poor sizing and designs that don't fit. Blissclub's answer is apparel made specifically for Indian women, with comfort as the selling point rather than appearance. The brand's stated mission is to spread happiness through movement, and it wants the community to be the center of that effort - a group of women coming together to stay active, with the clothing built to keep up.
