AstriVax Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company aiming to end virus-driven cancer, has closed a $34.9M seed funding round. The investment, backed by V-Bio Ventures and Mérieux Equity Partners, will advance its platform targeting what is the second leading preventable cause of cancer after smoking.
The company's Launch-iT platform generates durable, antigen-specific T-cell responses to clear virus-infected cells. AstriVax's lead program focuses on human papillomavirus 16 (HPV16), a primary driver of cervical and head and neck cancers, with plans to expand across additional HPV-driven cancers and explore applications in autoimmune diseases.
