AQ Biotech Ltd has secured $2.9M in seed funding, with Business Finland backing the round. The company is developing an antibody-free screening platform built on a patented phage biosensor method, aimed at catching prostate and other urinary tract cancers in their early stages-and eventually neurodegenerative conditions like Parkinson’s disease.
What sets the approach apart is its focus on entirely new urine-based biomarkers, a less invasive route than traditional blood or tissue tests. Clinical validation is already underway across Finland, China, and Ghana, giving the startup a global testing footprint as it works to bring the platform closer to practical use.
