WearOptimo, the Australian company developing AI-enabled microwearable sensors that access biological signals beneath the skin, has secured $5.3M in Series A funding. The startup is pioneering a new generation of microwearable sensor technology to transform how health is monitored and managed.
Founded in 2018 by biomedical engineer Professor Mark Kendall, WearOptimo aims to deliver real-time, objective insights from biomarkers traditional wearables can't reach, supporting timely intervention across health, performance, and safety applications. Its initial focus is on objective hydration monitoring, and the company is supported by partners including the Australian National University, federal and state governments, and a strategic investment partnership with Aspen Medical.
