Tether has invested $20.0M into Ualá, the neobank that serves over 11 million users across Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia, as it continues its push to modernize financial services in Latin America.
This latest capital infusion builds on Ualá's strong funding history. Founded in 2017 by Pierpaolo Barbieri, the company previously closed a $366 million Series E round in 2024, which was the largest private investment in Latin America in the last three years. Ualá also counts Tencent, SoftBank Latin America Fund, and Goldman Sachs among its top-tier backers.
