Turning arid landscapes into fertile ground, Terraxy, a KAUST startup, has raised $3.0M in Seed funding. The investment, backed by Wa'ed Ventures and KAUST, will support the company's sustainable technologies designed to unlock the agricultural potential of deserts.
Terraxy's core offering, Carbosoil, is a nature-inspired product that permanently builds soil with a one-time 5% application. It significantly enhances nutrient retention by 53% and water retention by 11% for centuries, leading to a 20% to 70% increase in plant growth. The company's approach also aims to lock carbon in the soil, contributing to long-term environmental benefits.
