Telomir Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotech firm developing a novel approach to disease treatment, has secured $5.6M in funding from investor DeJoria. The company's core technology involves a unique method to selectively bind critical metals, aiming to interrupt enzyme function and restore cellular metal homeostasis.
This capital will advance Telomir's work on its lead candidate, Telomir 1, which is designed to target specific classes of enzymes. By affecting the key processes that drive the concentration and accumulation of iron and copper in the serum, the treatment is believed to turn off the underlying cause of cancer development and growth, as well as address conditions like hemochromatosis.
