A new approach to boosting crop yields just got a financial shot in the arm. SugaROx, a spin-out from Oxford University and Rothamsted Research, has closed a $3.4M Series A funding round for its disruptive biostimulant technology.
The company's active ingredients are inspired by over two decades of scientific research into trehalose-6-phosphate, a natural plant molecule that controls carbon use. SugaROx aims to improve the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of crop production, with its first product pipeline focused on boosting wheat yields.
