A novel solar water purification technology designed to turn seawater into drinking water has attracted $932K in seed investment for SolarDew Clean Water B.V. The Dutch startup develops compact, inflatable products that can rapidly deploy after natural disasters or serve as a permanent source of clean drinking water for households and communities.
This seed round, backed by Connect the Drops B.V. and Oost NL, will support SolarDew's mission to provide simple, affordable, and robust drinking water solutions, especially in areas affected by water scarcity. Their technology purifies local groundwater or seawater in a single step through evaporation and condensation via a membrane.
