Smack Technologies Inc. has raised $61.0M in a Series B round, a bet that the next frontier in AI isnāt consumer chatbots but the battlefield. The company is building what it calls the first frontier AI lab dedicated to national security, with a stated mission of delivering āDecision Dominanceā to the U.S. Department of War, its allies, and partners.
The fresh capital backs Smackās work on domain-specific models that parse multimodal data streams in real time, compressing what might otherwise be a lengthy analytical process into campaign-informed decisions across the kill chain in seconds. The investors behind this round were not disclosed, but the size of the check signals serious appetite for AI applied to defense-an increasingly crowded and well-funded corner of the market.
