As industrial sand becomes increasingly scarce, Finnish technology company Resand Ltd has raised $27.0M to scale its solution for regenerating foundry sand. The Nuutajärvi-based firm offers clean sand as a service, allowing customers to achieve nearly 100% recycling of foundry sand and reduce CO2 emissions from its use and transport by up to 80%.
Resand's technology aims to slow the loss of biodiversity by reducing the need for virgin sand extraction. With staff across several European countries, the company is targeting strong growth in the European foundry market and plans to expand its business outside the continent.
